The Safe Drinking Water Act requires every five years the EPA issue a list of unregulated contaminants to be monitired by water systems. The fifth Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR 5) requires a sample collection for 30 chemical contaminants. The data collected from these samples help improve the understanding of the prevalence and amount of PFAS and lithium in the drinking water systems.
